Preschool in Bronx, New York Sharon Baptist Head Start opened its doors to 60 preschoolers in the summer of 1969. Our first home was in the basement of Sharon Baptist Church on Forest Avenue in the Bronx, New York. Since that time, we have grown to include preschool in the Bronx, New York, and childcare as well. Each year, we’re able to enroll 384 children on three different campuses. Our impact on families and the community has been marked by the statistics we’re able to produce.

- Our CLASS scores, Classroom Organization, and Emotional Support exceed the national quality benchmark.
- More than 55% of our staff were once Head Start parents.
